Ballerina Much?

Hello once again! :)

I know its been a long time since I've updated things here but I've been really busy with my thesis but finally the first part is done :P hahaha i can relax for maybe some time but i'd be busy again soon continuing it. :P hahaha

Anyway, because I've been busy I couldn't even make a present for my beloved friends whose birthdays were last november so i promised myself to finish there present and one of them is finally done! :)

My friend who loves to dance is a ballet dancer and she is good at it too! ;) I hope she likes it! :D I am now in progress on doing something for my other friend! :D

have anything in mind? My next friend's course is HRIM (she's learning to be a chef) hehe. What kind of design do you think i should do? ;)

I am also planning an artwork x-mas present for my barkada. Especially now we don't see each other often. This is the only way I can give them presents. At least its from the heart and i made them. :)

Sketches

Here are some sketches I've been doing in my sketchpad. It's not that much because I am busy with thesis but I try to do some to keep practicing. :) hehe

The first drawing were sketches from my two cousin's debut ( They are twin boys and just turned 21. ;) ) and my tito's 55th birthday! (PLUS my grandfather who passed away a long time ago) :D Yes! They have the same birthday hehe (TRIVIA: Their birthday distance are 34 years. :P Isn't that cool? :P)

The second image was on the eve of All Saint's Day. :)

And the last image was done when I was in my cousin's and tita's birthday. :) I tried using colored pencil because it's been a while since I used them. I need to practice with my colored pencils. Though I am still not good in shading, I'm still trying to learn it. :p hehe

Amelie-inspired

While thinking of ideas on how to make concept arts and backgrounds for my thesis, I took a break and did some sketch.

I was inspired by a shot on the film "AMELIE". Not only was I watching this film for entertainment (and I am a fan of the actress AUDREY TAUTOU and the french director, JEAN-PIERRE JEUNET)but for inspiration, and some shot practices for my storyboard. They say watching movies can help you in storyboarding. ;)

I'm not yet done with the film but so far, its getting interesting. :P hehe maybe I'll finish it if I am not that busy. :P

I'm still figuring out how to digi-paint so don't kill me if it's not as pretty. :P hehehe but I am eager to learn more and more. :)

Rag Doll Production

Still busy with thesis. hehe

But I am proud to share one of the things I've accomplished for my thesis. :)

This is my production name: Rag doll Production :)

I came up with this name because I wanted the production to represent me. And I like to be different. And I kept thinking of things that were different until I came up with Barbie dolls and I thought what's the other side of barbie dolls, hmmmm... rag dolls, perhaps? :)

Then I was inspired by the famous rag doll, Raggedy Ann and one of my favorite artist, Mr. Alberto Cerriteno. So here it is, my production name :D

So there you have it. Hope you like it, guys! :D

Beautiful Monster

Funny how in one picture you could come up with so much things. :)

Today, I was doing one of my concept art for my thesis. I was playing around with the design when suddenly I saw something forming. I can see a monster or owl in it.

So, i made eyes, some feathers, a funny nose and VOILA!

A BEAUTIFUL MONSTER :P

I just got this title from the song I was listening to, while making my concept art which was Neyo's "Beautiful Monster". :P

True Love

It's been a while. sorry for not updating sooner. :)

I was really busy in school but now it's our term break so I have some time to post things. I am actually thinking of ideas for my thesis and while thinking of ideas I wanted to practice drawing and practice with photoshop :D

So my subjects were my friend and her special someone. :) I played with texture, pen tool and lots more so I can be familiarize with photoshop.

So i made two backgrounds. What do you think is better? I know its a little off and not yet that there but hey! I am practicing so I'll try and try hopefully i get better.

So the first one was actually inspired because of the passionate color red. Well we usually associate color red with love so there you have it! :D And I mixed some brown with it to experiment it.

And this one is inspired by my nearby pillow. I kinda liked the calmness and classic colors and the feel of the pillow so I used it. :)

So there you have it! Comments and Suggestions are appreciated. :D

a new approach

WAAAAW!!! It's been a while since I posted something. hahaha, sorry I've been busy. :P I've been doing a lot of drawing in my sketchpad and some practice in photoshop but had no time to scan and upload them :)) heheAnyway this drawing was done...hmmmm...late at night while I was actually suppose to do my homework in a certain subject. :P hehehe... I wanted to take a break from studying and draw. :P hehehe

Sketches part1

Ohhhhkay!!! :D

First of all, I've watched the interview video of one of my idols, Pascal Campion. :D It was beautiful in a way it was inspiring. :)

I had always have the concept na nakakahiya ipakita yung mga drawing ko kasi di pa ako marunong and its not worth to share to people because it is not yet good. But he made me rethink that. :) You should share your work because you will never know what stories you could have said in that certain drawing or sketch. You will never know you are a good storyteller. And sharing your work is part of the CREATIVE PROCESS.

So here are my sketches! I actually finished my ever first sketchpad! :)) hehehe So here they are. No more hiding! :)) hahaha... share na kung i-share! :)

BTW, if there are any similar characters you see or drawings i don't mean to copy them- i just wanted to practice.

And i guess one more thing to practice is for, is drawing something that can give out feelings or emotions to your audience. How to tell a story with those drawings. :D

Photoshop practice

So, here are my drawings using photoshop. I'm trying to also draw and color in digital. :)

I know there not yet that clean and perfect. But I just want to share to you guys what I have so far. :) Am proud of it. :) At least I can draw and it is a start. :)

Some of them are not shaded and 1 is shaded (but i don't know if it's right... :P) because I'm pretty lost when it comes to your own character's shading. But I am still figuring it out and learning how to do it. :D So, just wait for the updated one :D

I am also acknowledging my friend Nicole Mendoza for helping me in drawing the lips of the blond girl, James Manlangit for teaching the technique in the pen tool thing even if I am lost and i am not applying it I am extremely thankful :D I will one day apply it, proooomise! Just teach me again. hahaha :P (I'm so slooow! :P) and Patrick Soriano for teaching me how to color :D Thank you so much talaga...i know it's a small thing but I appreciate it and thankful. :)

Ohya! BTW, if you are wondering why their skins or their colors are really weird, I am trying this thing I observe in some drawings they don't usually use flesh all the time and what I learned from my prof wherein you use different colors to come up with the color you want your audience to see. :P It is hard to explain but... just try to understand. Anyway, I am still in the process of finishing them :D Just wait for the updates. :P hehe

I would also like to say that, these drive to push myself to draw more was also the help of the oppurtunity to go to the CG Overdrive in Singapore. And to think I didn't want to go at first. :)

I've learned a lot from the experience and the seminar. It was an eye opener.

So ya, thank you for the oppurtunity! :) Thank you, God. :) Maybe, it was your will for me to go there. You really surprise me with all your plans for me. Thank you! :) Keep surprising me. I will need your full support and help for me to succeed in being an animator, or concept artist, or to be a storyboard artist! Go, go, go!!! :D:D

Hey there! :D

I know i've not post anything yet or written anything yet since I made this blog. :P I was hesitant to post sketches and some drawings I made.

Well, i am not yet THAT good in drawing...hehe. i am still learning and i am willing to learn :D Keep moving forward and keep drawing. :P hehe

A friend of mine made a post of a quotation from one of my idols and she posted: ‎"The more you draw, the better you're gonna get" -Pascal Campion" Because of this it gave me a little motivation to just post my sketches and drawings. :D Thanks Nicole! :D:D Go, go,go!!! :D:D I can do this! hahaha This quotation will forever stick in my head. :) hahaha

So here it goes! :D I will post sketches and drawings already. (*ehem* Anna Villaluna, mag-post ka na rin ;) hehehe :P Let's do this!)

And anyway, it will be good to see my improvement, right? :) hehehe
